The CSU Animal Cancer Center has a fully developed tissue archiving service. Pets' cancer tissues - including heprinized plasma, serum, PBMC’s and histoblocks of tumor and normal tissue are collected and used for research. Each patient’s detailed history is included as well as a linkage to treatment outcomes. To date, a total of 906 patients have tissues banked at CSU – totaling to 12,400 samples. The tissue is made available both internally and externally for research. At CSU, research is conducted in the areas of cancer genetics, biomarkers and molecular targets. |
